Salary Day

Well, today was payday. It came a day ahead of schedule, what a nice surprise.

Madame Giry delivered the salary to my flat today, as I cannot stay beneath the opera house any longer. It appears that the mob has decided the cellars are such a quaint and charming place to live, that they too are trying to stay down there. It really makes me laugh, they think they are going through my most prized possessions, when in reality I would never keep anything of real value there, as it was too damp to do anything much good. I had to apply a new coat of wax to my violin every time I would leave because the excess moisture would do incredible damage to such a delicate instrument over time.

As I was saying though, my salary came and with it news that the managers are going to be performing a new opera. It seems that someone has written one entitled “Christine, The Love Of My Life”. After having been given a sneak peek of the score, I could easily tell a novice has put this together. Poor Raoul, he thinks it’s a nice tribute to her I’m sure. Unfortunately, it sounds like a train wreck.

I must think of a new way to get the managers NOT to perform such a dastardly piece of crap. I have a feeling they won’t take a note, they are going to require something much bigger.

My work is never done.

Wisking Christine Away

Raoul had planned to wisk Christine away for a lovely weekend at his families estate. He had planned to travel by carriage, pick up Christine and then travel onward to the estate. Upon his inspection of his carriage, he found that the wheels axle had been cracked. I do wonder who would have done such a thing.

He then decided he didn’t want to be late, and ordered one of his fine horses. Then he would just gain a carriage  in paris and still be able to pick Christine up.

Did you know that Highwaymen STILL roam the paths around the country?

Those men will do just about anything for money. Going as far as to stop a young man on his way to Paris, taking not only money, and the horse, but clothing to. I’d like to say that Raoul has nothing to be ashamed of., but seeing him standing on the path, naked as the day he was born…let’s just say he didn’t look much older.

Money CAN buy you happiness.

My newest masterpiece

A new Opera. One about a young man who against all evil, ignorantly still waded into the frey. In the end he loses his life, despite the fact he had been warned many times.
The music is outstanding. I’ve outdone myself.

To the Audience

Thank you for the questions that have been sent in thus far. One in particular I wanted to write about here. The question asked was “what do we ask about?” If you will visit the website’s main page you will see an opinion section. That section gives catagorized areas of what kinds of questions to ask. You may ask about POTO the show, my opinion on other authors of Phantom stories, etc etc. Just take a look and send in what you will.

The point is to get Q & A’s up for all phantom phans to see and read. To have a good laugh from.  The sillier your question, the more it makes my job so much easier.

The Fountain of Youth

I’m still beside myself in a fit of laughter. Raoul never saw it coming. Yesterday evening, the two love birds showed again. Raoul as usual stands on the fountains edge. Simply stepping upon it to tower over Christine and sing to her.

The Fountain has  one area that hasn’t been used in a number of years.

You see…one water shoot had been malfunctioning some years back and the city never repaired it, rather they just had an engineer redirect the water away from that “spout” if you will.

Not last evening. Raoul stepped upon the side of the fountain, and started to blather on to Christine, and in mid song a spray of water about 6 inches in circumfrence shot out of the fountain, hitting him directly in the back of the head. Raoul was promptly knocked/sprayed off the water fountain. Yes truly it was a spectacle seeing him laying face first on the courtyard below. Christine quickly coming to his aid and helping him to his feet. I in a fit of laughter.

I’m not that sinister. Luckily for both of them I didn’t turn the courtyard ground geysers back on.  Who says  April is the rainy month in Paris.

Will it ever stop?

Again with the blasted singing at the fountain. I know they have no idea that I am an arms throw from that infernal fountain, but at least it was a decent hour this time. I was merely reading. Tonight however, I have a surprise in store for them. I will make my way to the fountain before they arrive.  I’ve got a special surprise for Raoul. I’m sure it will be delightful. Tomorrow I will write it here in this journal. A place to keep it secretly, so that anytime I need to make myself smile I can remember.

That’s right Raoul. Come to the fountain.
